Must Watch Manufacturers In 2017
Manufacturing technologies are evolving fast, but never as fast as they as will in 2017. Manufacturers has always been wanting to include advancement in technology in their manufacturing process, these advancements include advanced analytics and artificial intelligence which are involved in their manufacturing processes. The impact of these new technologies surely did a great impact to these new technologies.
Also, the global political climate is also impacting the sector. One of the recent changes that has happened is the change in administration in the US and European politics. For a deeper look into these and more manufacturing trends to watch out for in 2017, read on.
Trade Tensions – Recent political changes in both the US and Europe have put the freedom of international trade in question. In the US, for instance, Donald Trump was sworn in as president in January 2017. And based on the statements issued by his administration, he is not at all keen on some of the trade deals made by past administrations.
One such deal is the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TTP), a trade deal between the US and 12 Pacific-Rim countries. Donald Trump is not eager with the TTP as a trade deal, thus, it is now good as dead. The other deal at risk is the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP), a deal with Europe. Although the TTIP is not yet dead like the TTP, its future is still not sure. The withdrawal of UK to the European union has probably brought the biggest political change in Europe. The continental Europe and UK will surely have a hard time with regard to withdrawals since UK has already withdraw from the European Union. Even worse, Brexit has affected trade relations between many European companies. The negotiation of companies with other companies is also very important so that relationship with each other will become normal. In order for companies and businesses to have a good relationship with each other, it is important that these small manufacturers will adapt new business environment.
Computerized Maintenance Management System or simply known as CMMS will also bring new change this 2017. To keep the manufacturing process moving, businesses must conduct routine maintenance. This can be compared to fixing a broken window to repairing a manufactured tool. Sometimes, the maintenance that a company can offer is not enough, thus, it is really important that the maintenance increases its efficiency, profits and the production line’s lifespan.
Today, a CMMS system tracks, records, and stores maintenance data.
